On October 21, Rowland Water District won first place in the “Float for Business” category during the 51st Annual Rowland Heights Buckboard Days Parade & Festival. Their float, titled “Rowland’s World of Water,” was a play on the Parade’s overall theme of “Rowland’s World of Wonder”, celebrating the power of imagination, laughter and dreams.

Rowland Water District has been actively involved in Buckboard Days for more than two and a half decades and is proud to continue that sponsorship in 2023. This year, RWD sponsored the event and staffed a community booth, in addition to constructing a float.

“The Rowland Heights Buckboard Days Parade & Festival is not just an event, it’s a tradition,” said Gabriela Palomares, Rowland Water District’s Executive Services Manager. “It’s an opportunity to come together and enjoy the company of family and friends while rejoicing in our rich cultural heritage.”

Marching down Nogales Street, the annual Parade was a spectacular display of color and festivity, showcasing the community’s history with a variety of floats, marching bands and community groups. The Buckboard Family Festival at Rowland Heights Park featured games, food, music and more.
