RWD Travels ‘Back to the Future’ for Rowland Heights Buckboard Days

October 10, 2022– Rowland Water District (RWD) will continue its longtime tradition of supporting the Rowland Heights Buckboard Days Parade and Festival on Saturday, October 15, with a parade float ridden by board members and a booth to share water-related information with the public.

“Joining our community in celebrating its unique history is a great opportunity to share the Rowland Water District story,” General Manager Tom Coleman said. “We’re delighted to interact with residents and offer information about the high-quality, dependable water we supply to our customers and the community every day.”

The theme of this year’s event, which is sponsored by RWD, is “50th Golden Anniversary: Back to the Future.”

The District’s roots in the community go back 69 years. RWD recently created a video celebrating its history and its role in the area’s development, which can be viewed at rwd.org/historic-video/.

The District’s Buckboard Days booth will feature information about the agency’s history and its water supply. Staff will also offer water conservation tips and free water efficiency devices.

“We love being part of the Rowland Heights family and showing our community spirit at Buckboard Days,” RWD Board President Anthony Lima said. “The parade and festival offer a chance to get out and meet our neighbors and customers and build lasting friendships.”

The parade begins at 9 a.m. at the corner of Nogales Street and Colima Road, followed by the festival from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festivities will be held at Rowland Heights Park, 1500 Banida Ave., Rowland Heights.
