October 13, 2021– As part of its Career Pathways program, Rowland Water District invites the public to explore rewarding and stable careers in the water industry at free community webinars on October 20 and 21.

Eight skilled professionals from Rowland Water will provide a comprehensive overview of essential jobs in the field, share their unique experiences and detail their role in providing clean, safe water to tens of thousands of people every day. The speakers include two maintenance employees, a systems operator, field operations supervisor, meter reader, customer service representative, water systems supervisor and cross connection control specialist.

“The public may not realize how many different opportunities there are in all aspects of this flourishing industry, from customer service representatives in the office to technicians in the field,” said Brittnie Van De Car, Rowland’s Education & Community Outreach Coordinator. “These forums are the perfect place to learn more about our industry, whether you are looking to start your career or make a change.”

The community forums are part of Rowland Water District’s Career Pathways Program launched earlier this year. The program helps students discover employment opportunities, acquire hands-on experience, and learn about the importance of providing a fundamental resource to the community.

The forums will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with different speakers on each day. The first water career forum, held in February, was an overwhelming success. You can find the archived video series at www.rwd.org.
